Frequently asked questions
What is the attire for the reunion? Comfortable is the choice! Even though we have limited the distance between event locations and there will be shuttle transportation, you will still be doing some walking. Wear comfortable shoes. There will be a photographer at various events, so be sure to also bring a smile!
What happens if it rains? Our reunion weekend will happen rain or shine! Only extended outdoor events will be moved inside. Keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately — and keep your fingers crossed for sunshine!
Will there be photography or videography during the event? Yes; in addition to our official class photos, we will be capturing special moments throughout the weekend. We will share all photos via email after the event, so make sure to look out for that!
Will deceased classmates be acknowledged at some point over the weekend? Yes. We will honor deceased classmates throughout the weekend.
Can I bring a guest or family member? Absolutely! Please ensure to register guests alongside you.
What is the best way to get around campus? Shuttles will run throughout the weekend! You may also opt to walk instead of taking the shuttle. UNCG’s campus is pedestrian-friendly with plenty of rest areas along the way. We will also have a limited number of golf carts to help transport those who need special accommodations. A phone number will be provided inside the program.
Where should I park on campus? Please park in Lot 7 behind the Weatherspoon Art Museum; the lot is located at the corner of Tate Street and Oakland Avenue. Parking is free and shuttles will be available at the museum courtyard entrance to transport you to our event spaces each day.
Are there restroom facilities nearby at each building/location? Yes, restrooms will be easily accessible at all event locations.
Is there a way to track the location and estimated time of arrival for the shuttles? Spartan Chariots, our campus shuttles, will be running throughout the weekend. You can track the shuttle by clicking here to access the PassIOGo app. You can also download the app on Google Play or Apple Store, and search UNC Greensboro under “Routes.”
Any suggestions for transportation from the airport to my hotel? Uber and Lyft are available in Greensboro. Check online or with your hotel for other options, such as Yellow United Taxi Association (336-273-9421) who reports on the web to provide airport pick-ups 24/7.
What accommodations are being made for those with increased mobility needs? Shuttle bus or golf cart transportation will be available for all moves between campus buildings, and all buildings are equipped with elevator access. For those driving to campus, there are handicapped spots available in the designated parking lot behind the Weatherspoon Art Museum. They are first come first served but not just for reunion folks. Please reach out and let us know if you need additional special accommodations! A phone number will be provided inside the program to access the golf carts.
What if I have dietary restrictions? We will do our best to accommodate dietary needs. Please note any restrictions when registering, and feel free to reach out to Alumni Engagement staff with any specific concerns.
Where should I stay? There are many wonderful places to stay close to campus. Scroll down to the “Hotels” section of this page, or check out this list of hotel options for some deals on a few local accommodations!
Is Yum Yum the same? Even though the business/building has moved across the street and one block west, the ice cream is as good as always! Check out this video for a sneak peak of Yum Yum these days.
What else can I do while I’m in town? Keep an eye on the webpage for suggestions! Our State Magazine also wrote a great article on what to do in Greensboro. You can click here to read the article and make a long weekend of it!
