Vanguard Reunion Weekend is an annual event celebrating our Vanguard community. Vanguard alumni have celebrated 50 or more years as UNCG graduates, and are an integral part of our alumni community. Vanguard alumni are invited to join us on campus to learn, explore, connect, celebrate, and remember their time as students.

As part of the festivities, the Class of 1976 will be recognized as UNCG Vanguard, a community that has had the privilege of celebrating 50 years as UNCG graduates.

Stay tuned for event and registration details — this milestone celebration during Vanguard Reunion Weekend is one you won’t want to miss.

You may be familiar with Alumni All Access, our free virtual learning series in which we highlight a variety of campus partners and programs. Alumni All Access Live is an in-person selection of offerings tailored specifically to Vanguard Reunion Weekend. Stay tuned for which sessions will be offered during the 2026 Reunion Weekend!

These are just a few of the FAQs from last year’s festivities. A more extensive list of FAQs will be available once registration opens.

What is the attire for the reunion?  Comfortable is the choice! Even though we have limited the distance between event locations and there will be shuttle transportation, you will still be doing some walking. Wear comfortable shoes. There will be a photographer at various events, so be sure to also bring a smile!

What happens if it rains?  Our reunion weekend will happen rain or shine! Only extended outdoor events will be moved inside. Keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately — and keep your fingers crossed for sunshine!

Will there be photography or videography during the event?  Yes, in addition to our official class photos, we will be capturing special moments throughout the weekend. We will share all photos via email after the event, so make sure to look out for that!

Will deceased classmates be acknowledged at some point over the weekend?  Yes. We will honor deceased classmates throughout the weekend.

Can I bring a guest or family member?  Absolutely! When registration becomes available, please ensure to register guests alongside you.

What is the best way to get around campus?  Shuttles will run throughout the weekend! You may also opt to walk instead of taking the shuttle. UNCG’s campus is pedestrian-friendly with plenty of rest areas along the way. We will also have a limited number of golf carts to help transport those who need special accommodations. A phone number will be provided inside the program.

Are there restroom facilities nearby at each building/location?  Yes, restrooms will be easily accessible at all event locations.

What accommodations are being made for those with increased mobility needs?  Shuttle bus or golf cart transportation will be available for all moves between campus buildings, and all buildings are equipped with elevator access. For those driving to campus, there are handicapped spots available in the designated parking lot behind the Weatherspoon Art Museum. They are first come first served but not just for reunion folks. Please reach out and let us know if you need additional special accommodations! A phone number will be provided inside the program to access the golf carts.
