About the Marcus T. Johnson alumni house

The Marcus T. Johnson Alumni House is your home on UNCG’s campus. Built in 1937, it has hosted generations of events, including weddings, receptions, meetings and more. It is centrally located at 404 College Avenue, just behind the Elliot University Center and at the southern end of College Avenue. In 2021, the building was beautifully restored and renovated, including interior design updates and refinished hardwood floors. It includes several meeting and gathering spaces, including:

• The Oakley Family Reception Room (80 – 200 attendees)
• The Horseshoe Conference Room (Up to 16 attendees)
• The Pecky Cypress Room (10 – 40 attendees)

The Johnson Alumni House is open during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and for special events. The house is closed Sundays and University-observed holidays. The Johnson Alumni House abides by University regulations and guidelines as they relate to public health standards, weather closings, holiday breaks, and necessary repairs.
